Gophr’s In-App Courier Training:
How it improves delivery standards
If a decade in same day deliveries has taught us anything it’s that courier quality matters. Particularly for our clients.
Better quality couriers make for better delivery outcomes
Improved courier standards means better compliance, more reliability, more service flexibility and resilience and fewer customer service incidents (or headaches as we call them)
Because thereās a big difference between a driver with an app, and an experienced / properly trained courier – which is why Gophr typically ranks top of doorstep experience and driver quality metrics.
Which is why legacy pro courier companies spend hundreds of hours and thousands of pounds on courier onboarding and training. But this kind of training is a real challenge to roll out quickly and accurately at scale, especially given courier turnover. We thought there must be a better way.
And there isā¦
Gophr In-App Training Modules;
- Modular interactive courses
- Developed in collaboration with some of the UKās leading businesses including Superdrug and Dulux
- Deployed directly via theĀ Gophr courier app
- With completion tracked and monitored across our courier database
- Mandatory ‘refreshers’ every 3 months
Training adds value in two distinct ways;
Firstly, improving the delivery quality across the entire Gophr network.
Then for courier work requiring high levels of compliance – like the delivery of controlled medicines we handle for pharmacies across the UK – completion of the specific training module is a requisite for any courier to access that work, with mandatory training ārefreshersā every three months to avoid any bad habits or update based on new and improved operating guidelines
Currently we have modules live for:
Core courier skills:
the fundamentals every good courier needs.
- Proof of Delivery; how to take a proper proof of pick up / delivery photo
- Challenge 25; knowing acceptable forms of ID and correct procedures
- GPDR; ensuring the correct handling of end customer data
Enterprise Onboarding:
Custom modules that help couriers understand any specific client requirements e.g.
- Collection procedures – how to let staff members know about arrival etc, where to park at point of pick up.
- Introductions to 3rd party routing software – if we are supplying drivers as part of our fleet on demand service, those drivers will be already familiar with the client side app
- Return procedures – how to handle, sort and label any failed deliveries for depot processing
Specialist sector procedures:
Some sectors require a greater degree of compliance because of potential harm to the end customer, or because the consignments are fragile or require special handling e.g.Ā
- Controlled Medicine delivery; ensuring the correct delivery and return protocols are followed at all times
- Paint spillage protocols; so couriers working on our trade accounts know how to handle any spills or breakages
We’re adding new modules on a regular basis, and If youād like to find out more about our courier training, please get in touch here
