Choosing your contract type at Gophr
You are able to choose between two types of working status on the Gophr platform.
You are free to choose either working status, and you are able to change it in the future. Please note there are separate terms and conditions for each status and you should familiarise yourself with these before making a choice.
Choose between 2 contract types:
Option 1: Independent Contractor
💰 Payment
You will receive a single payment for each job you complete without the deductions or additions set out in the other option. This single payment will be higher (usually by around 20%) than the single payment you will receive if you choose option 2, but you will not receive holiday pay, pension and National Minimum Wage whilst working.
✅ Sub-contracting available
You will have the ability to sub-contract work to your own sub-contractors in line with the Gophr Terms and Conditions.
🔵 Status
You will be self-employed for tax purposes and you will be responsible for the payment of any income tax and National Insurance contributions to HMRC.
Option 2: Worker

Frequently Asked Questions
No. You will be self-employed both as a Worker, and as an Independent Contractor. This means you can choose your own working hours, and accept or decline work as you choose. It also means you will only be paid for the work you complete and will not be paid if you are not working.
Both options are treated equally by Gophr. The amount of jobs you will be offered are based on your location, your vehicle type and your KPIs.
No. As a worker, you will earn at least National Minimum Wage whilst working, not when you are only online. You will be able to see how much you will be paid for a job before you accept it. If you are online and do not accept any jobs, you will not be paid anything.
Normally, you will be paid the amount you see on the job offer when you accept a job, plus a pension contribution if you qualify. If for any reason your earnings fall below National Minimum Wage for a job, you will receive a top up. This will be a separate line on the payment statement you get via email.
Pension contributions are paid when you meet the relevant earnings threshold. This is set by the Government and varies based on age, and a number of other factors. Please check the Government website for further details.
Holiday pay is paid weekly (provided you have carried out work for Gophr in that week). Your holiday pay will appear as a separate line item in your payment statement (sent via email) at a rate of 12.07% of the job rate. This is the equivalent of 5.6 weeks of paid holiday a year. Unless we have notified you otherwise, you do not need to let Gophr know when you take a holiday.
